Privacy Policy for Spireknight

Effective date: October 11, 2026 · Last updated: October 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Iron Skull Studios ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile game Spireknight (the "Game") on Google Play and the Apple App Store. We built the Game to use as little personal information as possible.

Summary (the short version)

  • No sign-up. We never ask for your real name, email, phone number or password.
  • No ads, no ad networks, no analytics or tracking tools.
  • Your game progress is saved on your device.
  • When you start the Game for the first time, we ask for your birth year. The answer stays on your device.
  • If you are 13 or older, the Game creates a random anonymous ID and puts your display name and progress on the public leaderboard automatically. You can remove yourself at any time from the Leaderboard screen.
  • If you are under 13, all online features are turned off and we collect no personal information from you (see section 5).

1. Information we collect

a) Birth year. Asked once, on first launch, to decide whether online features are available. It is stored only on your device and is never sent to us.

b) Anonymous ID (players 13+). The Game creates a random anonymous login with our database provider (Supabase). It is not linked to your real identity and is used only to keep your leaderboard entry and event rewards yours.

c) Display name (players 13+). The name you give your knight, or "Knight" if you don't choose one. It is shown publicly on the leaderboard, so please don't use your real name or other personal details. Names that break our rules are blocked.

d) Gameplay data (players 13+). Your tower, floor, score and when they were last updated (for the leaderboard), and which weekend gauntlet and login-chest rewards you have claimed (so each can only be claimed once).

e) Purchase records. In-app purchases are paid through Google Play or the Apple App Store; we never see your payment details. Our purchase service (RevenueCat) receives a record of what was bought, a random customer ID, and basic device information, so purchases can be delivered and restored.

f) Technical data. When the Game connects to the internet, the services involved automatically receive standard information such as your IP address, the time of the request and basic device or system details. This is used to run the service, keep it secure and prevent cheating.

2. What we do NOT collect

  • No real name, email, phone number or password.
  • No precise or background location.
  • No contacts, photos, files, camera or microphone access.
  • No advertising IDs, ad networks or cross-app tracking.
  • No analytics or behavior-tracking tools.

3. How we use information

  • To show the global leaderboard.
  • To run weekend events, the boss gauntlet and daily login chests.
  • To deliver and restore in-app purchases.
  • To keep the Game secure, stop cheating and block offensive names.

We do not sell or share your information for advertising, and we are not a data broker.

4. Who handles your information

  • Supabase (database and anonymous login) stores the leaderboard, your anonymous ID and event claims.
  • RevenueCat processes purchase records.
  • Google and Apple process payments and distribute the Game.

These providers process data only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety and security of our players or the Game.

5. Children under 13

The Game is meant for players 13 and older, but younger players may play it in an offline mode. When a player tells us they are under 13:

  • no anonymous ID is created and nothing is uploaded to the leaderboard;
  • there is no name prompt and no public display name;
  • the gauntlet and login-chest rewards are turned off;
  • if this device already had an online ID, it is deleted from our servers.

We do not collect personal information from players under 13, except what the app store and our purchase service need to process an in-app purchase. If you believe we have information about a child under 13, contact us and we will delete it.

6. How long we keep information

  • On your device: until you uninstall the Game. "Reset All Progress" keeps your purchases and your birth-year answer.
  • Leaderboard, anonymous ID and event claims: until you remove yourself in the Game, or 12 months after your last online activity (a leaderboard update or event reward), when they are deleted automatically.
  • Purchase records: kept by RevenueCat, Google and Apple as their own policies and the law require.
  • Technical logs: kept by our providers for their standard log periods.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Remove yourself: open the Leaderboard screen and tap "Remove me from the leaderboard." This permanently deletes your leaderboard entry, event history and anonymous ID from our servers, and you won't be added back unless you tap "Show me on the leaderboard."
  • If you've uninstalled the Game: your online data is deleted automatically 12 months after your last online activity. To ask for deletion sooner, email us with your display name and roughly what tower you reached. Because the data is anonymous, we may not be able to find it with certainty.
  • Regional rights: depending on where you live (for example the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Email us to use them.

8. Security

All connections between the Game and our services are encrypted (HTTPS). The database only lets each player change their own leaderboard entry, and it checks names and scores before accepting them. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International data transfers

Our providers may process information in countries other than yours, which may have different data-protection laws.

10. Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we will change the "Last updated" date above. We will mention material changes in the Game.
